β οΈ Asbestos Removal Works: Completed
As part of the Piha Bowling Club roof restoration project, licensed asbestos removal specialist Specialist Asbestos & Mould Removal Services Ltd (SAMRS) completed the removal of the asbestos-containing roofing materials from the clubhouse between 10–14 August 2026.
The asbestos roof has now been safely removed and the timber roof frame exposed, allowing the next stage of the roof restoration works to commence.

Safety Measures
The removal works were undertaken with appropriate asbestos safety controls in place, including:
- Safety signage, barriers and temporary fencing
- Full shrink-wrapping of the clubhouse
- Strict dust suppression measures
- Safe handling and disposal of asbestos-containing materials
- Independent inspection and asbestos clearance following removal
The asbestos removal stage of the project is now complete, and the site has been cleared for the next phase of the roof restoration. Structural repairs, electrical work, insulation and preparation for installation of the new roof will now continue.
The clubhouse and surrounding work area remain closed while the roof restoration continues. We appreciate everyone in our community helping us keep the site safe by respecting all barriers and signage and staying clear of the work area.
